Install the 5th gear nut and sleeve and hub nut. Use a screwdriver to shift the transmission through each speed (1st gear to 4th gear). Use the 5th gear shift arm to shift into 5th gear (double engagement). Clean the bolt threaded portions. Apply an even coat of LOCTITE 262 to the grooves of the new nuts, the installation grooves of the input shaft and the installation grooves of the output shaft. Tighten the nuts to the specified torque. Carefully wipe away any LOCTITE that oozes from the area between the nuts and shafts. Caulk each of the tightened nuts in 2 places. Caulking width must not exceed 24 mm. Do not allow cracks to appear in the caulking. Torque: 127 Nm (13 kgf/m, 94 lbf/ft) Return the transmission to the neutral position. Align the shift rail detent positions. Install the transmission rear cover to the transmission case. Make sure transmission shifts properly before installing transmission rear cover. Apply liquid gasket (ThreeBond TB1215 or the equivalent) to the installation surfaces of the transmission rear cover. NOTE: If 5 minutes have passed after applying liquid gasket, reapply it and assemble the housings. Allow it to cure at least 20 minutes after assembly before filling the transmission with oil. Temporarily tighten the specified bolts (refer to the illustration). Apply liquid gasket (ThreeBond TB1215 or the equivalent) to the threads of the bolts marked with an arrow in the illustration.

Tighten all the bolts to the specified torque. Bolt Size A: M10 X 1.5 X 60 Bolt Size B: M10 X 1.5 X 45 Bolt Size C: M8 X 1.25 X 60 Torque: Bolt Size A, B: 42 Nm (4.3 kgf/m, 31 lbf/ft) Bolt Size C: 19 Nm (1.9 kgf/m, 14 lbf/ft) Apply liquid gasket (LOCTITE 242 or equivalent) to the installation surfaces of the control box assembly. NOTE: If 5 minutes have passed after applying liquid gasket, reapply it and assemble the housings. Allow it to cure at least 20 minutes after assembly before filling the transmission with oil. Apply LOCTITE 242 to the bolt threads. Torque: 19 Nm (1.9 kgf/m, 14 lbf/ft) aaa
