Output Shaft Reassembly (cont'd)

Special Tools Required

  • Second collar installer 5-8840-0009-0 (J-8853-01)
  • Pilot 5-8840-0050-0 (J-33369)
  • Bearing installer 5-8840-0054-0 (J-33374)
  • Output front bearing installer 5-8840-0605-0 (J-38599)

  1. Install the output shaft.
  1. Install the 1st thrust bearing.
  1. Install the 1st gear needle bearing.
  1. Install the output 1st gear.
  1. Install the 1st block ring set.

    NOTE: The insert spring set positions differ for right and left. The ends of the insert spring must not interfere with the hub.

  1. Install the 1st and 2nd synchroniser assembly.

    NOTE: the installation direction when assembling the synchroniser assembly.

  1. Install the 2nd gear needle bearing collar (A), using the special tools with a press.

    NOTE: Be careful not to twist the inserts in the block ring.

  1. Install the 2nd block ring set.
  1. Install the output 2nd gear.
  1. Install the 2nd gear needle bearing.
  1. Install the 3rd and 4th gear feather key.
  1. Install the 3rd and 4th output gear (A), rear output shaft bearing (B), using the special tool with a press.

  1. Install the front output shaft bearing (A), using the special tool with a press.
