Release Bearing Replacement

  1. Remove the spring (A) from the shift fork (B).

  1. Remove the release bearing (C).
  1. Make the necessary correction or parts replacement if wear, damage, or any other abnormal condition is found during inspection.
  1. Check the release bearing for excessive play, noise and centre adjustment function. Replace, if necessary.

    NOTE: The release bearing is packed with grease. Do not wash it in solvent.

  1. Apply high temperature grease to the sliding surface, shift fork and lever, then install the release bearing (A).

  1. Install the spring (B).
  1. Make sure bearing pads are located on shift fork ends (pads must be indexed) and both spring ends are in shift fork holes with the spring completely seated in bearing groove.
  1. Move the release lever right and left to make sure that it fits properly against the release bearing and that the release bearing slides smoothly.
