DTC P0704: Incorrect Clutch SW Signal

  1. Check the ''On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check''.

Was the ''OBD System Check'' performed?

YES – Go to step 2.

NO – Go to OBD System Check.

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  1. Disconnect the clutch connector.
  1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
  1. Measure voltage between the clutch SW 2P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2.

Wire side of female terminals

Is there battery voltage?

YES – Replace the clutch SW.

NO – Go to step 6.

  1. Measure voltage between the clutch SW 2P connector terminals No. 1 and body ground.

Wire side of female terminals

Is there battery voltage?

YES – Repair open in the ground wire.

NO – Go to step 7.

  1. Check the clutch SW signal circuit for open or short to ground.

Was a problem found?

YES – Repair the signal wire between ECM and the clutch SW.

NO – Substitute a known-good ECM and recheck. If symptom/indication goes away, replace the original ECM.
