| DTC B1384: | Half Latch Switch Signal Error |
| 1. | Clear the DTCs by selecting the DTCs MENU (DTCs) from the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS. |
| 2. | Open the tailgate fully with the tailgate outer handle, then close it fully with manual operation. |
| 3. | Check the DTCs by selecting the DTCs MENU (DTCs) from the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS. Is DTC B1384 indicated? YES - Go to 4. NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.n |
| 4. | Open the tailgate fully with the tailgate outer handle. |
| 5. | Cycle the ignition switch to OFF, and by using the screwdriver, close the latch in the tailgate. |
| 6. | Disconnect 12P connector from the tailgate closer unit. |
| 7. | Check for continuity between the No. 6 and No. 9 terminals of the tailgate closer unit 12P connector. Is there continuity? YES - Faulty half latch switch; replace the tailgate closer unit.n NO - Go to 8. |
| 8. | Reconnect the 12P connector to the tailgate closer unit. |
| 9. | Disconnect connector A (26P) from power tailgate control unit. |
| 10. | Check for continuity between the No. 20 terminal of power tailgate control unit connector A (26P) and body ground. Is there continuity? YES - Go to 15. NO - Go to 11. |
| 11. | Rotate the emergency lever inside of the tailgate, release from the half latch position. |
| 12. | Check for continuity between the No. 20 and No. 14 terminals of power tailgate control unit connector A (26P). Is there continuity? YES - Faulty power tailgate control unit; replace it.n NO - Go to 13. |
| 13. | Disconnect 12P connector from the tailgate closer unit. |
| 14. | Check for continuity between the No. 6 and No. 9 terminals of the tailgate closer unit 12P connector. Is there continuity? YES - Repair an open in the BLU/RED (HALF) wire between the No. 20 terminal of power tailgate control unit connector A (26P) and the No. 6 terminal of the tailgate closer unit 12P connector.n NO - Faulty half latch switch, or an open circuit for HALF line in the tailgate closer unit; replace it.n |
| 15. | Disconnect 12P connector from the tailgate closer unit. |
| 16. | Check for continuity between the No. 6 terminal of the tailgate closer unit 12P connector and body ground. Is there continuity? YES - Repair a short in the BLU/RED (HALF) wire between the No. 20 terminal of power tailgate control unit connector A (26P) and the No. 6 terminal of the tailgate closer unit 12P connector.n NO - A short circuit for HALF line in the tailgate closer unit; replace it.n |
