| DTC B1381: | Close Switch Signal Error |
| 1. | Clear the DTCs by selecting the DTCs MENU (DTCs) from the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS. |
| 2. | Open the tailgate fully with the tailgate outer handle, then close it fully with manual operation. |
| 3. | Check the DTCs by selecting the DTCs MENU (DTCs) from the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS. Is DTC B1381 indicated? YES - Go to 4. NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.n |
| 4. | Open the tailgate fully with the tailgate outer handle. |
| 5. | Cycle the ignition switch to OFF, and disconnect the 12P connector from the tailgate closer unit. |
| 6. | Check for continuity between the No. 5 and No. 9 terminals of the tailgate closer unit 12P connector. Is there continuity? YES - Faulty close switch; replace the tailgate closer unit.n NO - Go to 7. |
| 7. | Reconnect the 12P connector to the tailgate closer unit. |
| 8. | Disconnect connector A (26P) from the power tailgate control unit. |
| 9. | Check for continuity between the No. 17 terminal of power tailgate control unit connector A (26P) and body ground. Is there continuity? YES - Go to 15. NO - Go to 10. |
| 10. | By using the screwdriver, close the latch in the tailgate. |
| 11. | Connect battery positive (+) terminal to the No. 26 terminal of power tailgate control unit connector A (26P), and connect negative (-) terminal to No. 13 terminal of one. Then, move the motor to closing direction less than one second. |
| 12. | Check for continuity between the No. 17 and No. 14 terminals of power tailgate control unit connector A (26P). Is there continuity? YES - Faulty power tailgate control unit; replace it.n NO - Go to 13. |
| 13. | Disconnect the 12P connector from the tailgate closer unit. |
| 14. | Check for continuity between the No. 5 and No. 9 terminals of the tailgate closer unit 12P connector. Is there continuity? YES - Repair an open in the RED (CLCL) wire between the No. 17 terminal of power tailgate control unit connector A (26P) and No. 5 terminal of the tailgate closer unit 12P connector.n NO - Faulty close switch, or an open circuit for CLCL line in the tailgate closer unit; replace it.n |
| 15. | Disconnect the 12P connector from the tailgate closer unit. |
| 16. | Check for continuity between the No. 5 terminal of the tailgate closer unit 12P connector and body ground. Is there continuity? YES - Repair a short in the RED (CLCL) wire between the No. 17 terminal of power tailgate control unit connector A (26P) and the No. 5 terminal of the tailgate closer unit 12P connector.n NO - A short circuit for CLCL line in the tailgate closer unit; replace it.n |
