Rear Pillar Outer Trim Replacement

NOTE: Take care not to scratch the body.

1.Remove the taillight

2.While pulling the rear pillar outer trim (A), cut through the double-sided adhesive tapes (B, C) with an utility knife, then remove it.

Adhesive tapes
B:  3M 5357, or equivalent 
C:  3M 5353, or equivalent 


3.Install the rear pillar outer trim in the reverse order of removal, and note these items.

  • If the trim is to be reinstalled, scrape off the remaining double-sided adhesive tape from the trim and body, then clean the trim and body surface with a sponge dampened in alcohol where adhesive tape will be applied. Glue the upper double-sided adhesive tape (B) (3M 5357, or equivalent) and another double-sided adhesive tapes (C) (3M 5353, or equivalent) to the original positions in the trim.
  • Fit the pins (D) to the clips (E) on the rear pillar, then push the clip and adhesive portions into place securely.
  • Replace any damaged clips with new ones.
