Audio System Symptom Troubleshooting - No sound

No sound


NOTE: Set the fader and balance positions to the center.

1.Check to see if there is a specific speaker that has no sound.

Is there a specific one?


YES - Go to 2.


NO - Go to 5.


2.Check the speaker that has no sound for any damage.

Is there any damage?


YES - Substitute the speaker and recheck.n


NO - Go to 3.


3.Disconnect and check the speaker 2P connector for loose or a poor connection.

Reconnect the speaker 2P connector and recheck the symptom; does it still appear?


YES - Go to 4.


NO - Operation is normal.n


4.Remove the audio-HVAC-display module.

5.Check for continuity between the speaker terminal and audio unit terminals.

Is there continuity?


YES - Go to 6.


NO - An open circuit or poor wire connection between the speaker and audio unit.n


6.Disconnect the audio unit connector A (20P).

7.Reconnect the speakers and measure the speaker resistance at the following terminals in the audio unit connector A (20P):
Driver's: No. 8 (+) and No. 18 (-) terminals
Front passenger's: No. 7 (+) and No. 17 (-) terminals
Left rear: No. 6 (+) and No. 16 (-) terminals
Right rear: No. 5 (+) and No. 15 (-) terminals

Is there about 4 W?


YES - Go to 8.


NO - An open circuit or poor wire connection between the speakers and audio unit.n


8.Check for continuity of the terminals below on the audio unit connector A (20P).
Driver's: No. 20 (ground) and No. 8 (+), No. 20 (ground) and No. 18 (-) terminals
Front passenger's: No. 20 (ground) and No. 7 (+), No. 20 (ground) and No. 17 (-) terminals
Left rear: No. 20 (ground) and No. 6 (+). No. 20 (ground) and No. 16 (-) terminals
Right rear: No. 20 (ground) and No. 5 (+). No. 20 (ground) and No. 15 (-) terminals

Is there continuity?


YES - Faulty wire harness between the speaker and the audio unit.n


NO - Faulty audio unit.n
