| DTC U0107: | Lost Communication With Throttle Actuator Control Module |
| 1. | Turn the ignition switch ON (II). |
| 2. | Do the DTC CLEAR in the CLEAR MENU with the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS. |
| 3. | Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs in the DTCs MENU with the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS. Is DTC U0107 indicated? YES - Go to 6. NO - Go to 4. |
| 4. | Start the engine. |
| 5. | Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs in the DTCs MENU with the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS. Is DTC U0107 indicated? YES - Go to 50. NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the throttle actuator control module relay, the throttle actuator control module and at the ECM/PCM.n |
| 6. | Do the DTC CLEAR in the CLEAR MENU with the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS. |
| 7. | Turn the ignition switch OFF. |
| 8. | Disconnect the intake air duct from the throttle body. |
| 9. | Open the throttle pedal to full open position. |
| 10. | Turn the ignition switch ON (II). |
| 11. | Visually check the throttle valve operation. Does it open, after a throttle valve closes at once? YES - Go to 12. NO - Go to 13. |
| 12. | Check the throttle valve operation again. Is a throttle valve opened fully? YES - Go to 44. NO - Go to 38. |
| 13. | Turn the ignition switch OFF. |
| 14. | Disconnect the throttle actuator control module 16P connector. |
| 15. | Check for continuity between throttle actuator control module 16P connector terminal No. 7 and body ground. Is there continuity? YES - Go to 16. NO - Repair open in the wire between the throttle body and the throttle actuator control module and G101, then go to 54. |
| 16. | Reconnect the throttle actuator control module 16P connector. |
| 17. | Turn the ignition switch ON (II). |
| 18. | Check the TACV RELAY in the DATA LIST with the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS. Is it ON indicated? YES - Go to 19. NO - Go to 60. |
| 19. | Turn the ignition switch OFF. |
| 20. | Remove the throttle actuator control module relay (A). |
| 21. | Measure voltage between throttle actuator control module relay terminal No. 1. and body ground. Is there battery voltage? YES - Go to 23. NO - Go to 22. |
| 22. | Check the No. 1 THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL (15A) fuse in under-dash fuse/relay box. Is the fuse OK? YES - Repair open in the wire between the throttle actuator control module relay (+B line) and the No. 1 THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL (15A) fuse, then go to 54. NO - Repair short in the wire between the throttle actuator control module relay (+B line) and the No. 1 THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL (15A) fuse, then go to 54. |
| 23. | Install the throttle actuator control module relay. |
| 24. | Disconnect the throttle actuator control module 16P connector. |
| 25. | Turn the ignition switch ON (II). |
| 26. | Measure voltage between throttle actuator control module 16P connector terminal No. 2 and body ground. Is there battery voltage? YES - Substitute a known-good throttle actuator control module, then go to 54 and recheck. If DTC U0107 is not indicated, replace the original throttle actuator control module, then go to 54. NO - Go to 27. |
| 27. | Turn the ignition switch OFF. |
| 28. | Remove the throttle actuator control module relay (A). |
| 29. | Jump the SCS line with the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS. |
| 30. | Disconnect PCM connector D (17P). |
| 31. | Check for continuity between ECM/PCM connector terminal D15 and the throttle actuator control module relay terminal No. 3. Is there continuity? YES - Go to 32. NO - Repair open in the wire between the ECM/PCM (D15) and the throttle actuator control module relay, then go to 54. |
| 32. | Turn the ignition switch ON (II). |
| 33. | Measure voltage between throttle actuator control module relay terminal No. 4 and body ground. Is there battery voltage? YES - Go to 34. NO - Repair open in the wire between the throttle actuator control module relay and the PGM-FI maim relay 1 (FI-MAIN), then go to 54. |
| 34. | Turn the ignition switch OFF. |
| 35. | Check for continuity between throttle actuator control module 16P connector terminal No. 2 and body ground. Is there continuity? YES - Repair short in the wire between the throttle actuator control module and the throttle actuator control module relay (+B line), then go to 54 NO - Go to 36. |
| 36. | Connect the throttle actuator control module relay terminal No. 1 to body ground with a jumper wire. |
| 37. | Check for continuity between throttle actuator control module 16P connector terminal No. 2 and body ground. Is there continuity? YES - Replace the throttle actuator control module relay, then go to 54. NO - Repair open in the wire between the throttle actuator control module and the throttle actuator control module relay (+B line), then go to 54. |
| 38. | Turn the ignition switch OFF. |
| 39. | Jump the SCS line with the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS. |
| 40. | Disconnect the throttle actuator control module 16P connector. |
| 41. | Disconnect ECM/PCM connector B (24P). |
| 42. | Check for continuity between ECM/PCM connector terminal B19 and body ground. Is there continuity? YES - Repair short in the wire between the ECM/PCM (B19) and the throttle actuator control module, then go to 54. NO - Go to 43. |
| 43. | Check for continuity between ECM/PCM connector terminal B19 and throttle actuator control module 16P connector terminals No. 6. Is there continuity? YES - Substitute a known-good throttle actuator control module, then go to 54 and recheck. If DTC U0107 is not indicated, replace the original throttle actuator control module, then go to 54. If DTC U0107 is indicated, then go to 60. NO - Repair open in the wire between the ECM/PCM (B19) and the throttle actuator control module, then go to 54. |
| 44. | Turn the ignition switch OFF. |
| 45. | Jump the SCS line with the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS. |
| 46. | Disconnect the throttle actuator control module 16P connector. |
| 47. | Disconnect ECM/PCM connector B (24P). |
| 48. | Check for continuity between ECM/PCM connector terminal B20 and body ground. Is there continuity? YES - Repair short in the wire between the ECM/PCM (B20) and the throttle actuator control module, then go to 54. NO - Go to 49. |
| 49. | Check for continuity between ECM/PCM connector terminal B20 and throttle actuator control module 16P connector terminal No. 14. Is there continuity? YES - Substitute a known-good throttle actuator control module, then go to 54 and recheck. If DTC U0107 is not indicated, replace the original throttle actuator control module, then go to 54. If DTC U0107 is indicated, then go to 60. NO - Repair open in the wire between the ECM/PCM (B20) and the throttle actuator control module, then go to 54. |
| 50. | Turn the ignition switch OFF. |
| 51. | Jump the SCS line with the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS. |
| 52. | Disconnect ECM/PCM connector A (31P). |
| 53. | Check for continuity between body ground and ECM/PCM connector terminals A8 and A9 individually. Is there continuity? YES - Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the throttle actuator control module relay, the throttle actuator control module and at the ECM/PCM, then go to 1. NO - Repair open in the wire between the ECM/PCM (A8, A9) and G101, then go to 54. |
| 54. | Turn the ignition switch OFF. |
| 55. | Reconnect all connectors. |
| 56. | Turn the ignition switch ON (II). |
| 57. | Do the ECM/PCM RESET in the CLEAR MENU with the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS. |
| 58. | Do the ECM/PCM idle learn procedure. |
| 59. | Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs in the DTCs MENU with the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS. Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated? YES - If DTC U0107 is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the throttle actuator control module relay, the throttle actuator control module and at the ECM/PCM, then go to 1. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC troubleshooting. NO - Troubleshooting is complete.n |
| 60. | Update the ECM/PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good ECM/PCM. |
| 61. | Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs in the DTCs MENU with the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS. Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated? YES - If DTC U0107 is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the throttle actuator control module relay, the throttle actuator control module and at the ECM/PCM, then go to 1. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC troubleshooting. NO - If the ECM/PCM was updated, troubleshooting is complete. If the ECM/PCM was substituted, replace the original ECM/PCM. |
