Cruise Control Symptom Troubleshooting

Check cruise control   combination   switch
Test brake pedal position switch and check its adjustment
Test the clutch pedal position switch and check its adjustment (M/T)
Check control unit 
  • Poor ground: G501, G503, G506
  • Open circuit, loose or disconnected terminals:
    GRY (LHD), BLK/RED (RHD), GRN (LHD), LT GRN (RHD), PNK, GRY, BRN, GRN, LT BLU (M/T), PNK (A/T)
 
Cruise control can be set, but cruise control main indicator light does not go on Check the cruise main indicator bulb in gauge assembly 
  • Open circuit, loose or disconnected terminals:
    GRN (LHD), LT GRN (RHD)
 
Cruise control can be set, but cruise control indicator light does not go on 1.

Check the cruise control indicator bulb in gauge assembly
Check control unit 
  • Poor ground: G506
  • Open circuit, loose or disconnected terminals:
    BLU
 
Cruise speed is noticeably higher or lower than what was set 1.

Excessive overshooting or undershooting when trying to set speed 1.

Open circuit, loose or disconnected terminals:
GRY, LT GRN 
Set speed does not cancel (engine rpm stays high) when clutch pedal is pushed (M/T) 1.

Test the clutch pedal position switch and check its adjustment 
Short to ground in the LT BLU wire

Short power in the GRN (LHD), LT GRN (RHD) wire. 
Set speed does not cancel when CANCEL button is pushed 1.

Open circuit, loose or disconnected terminals:
GRY, LT GRN 
Set speed will not resume when RESUME button is pushed (with MASTER button ON, and set speed temporarily cancelled by pressing the brake pedal) 1.
