Imoes Unit Input Test

1.Remove the glove box.

2.Disconnect the 5P connector (A) from the imoes unit (B).

3.Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.

If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
If the terminals look OK, make the following input tests at the connector.
  • If a test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
  • If all the input tests prove OK, the Imoes unit must be faulty; replace it.

Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if result is not obtained 
3 BLK/YEL Ignition switch ON (II) Check for voltage to ground: There should be battery voltage. 
  • Blown No. 19 (15A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box
  • An open in the wire
 
5 WHT Under all condition Check for voltage to ground: There should be battery voltage. 
  • Blown No. 7 (10 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box
  • An open in the wire
 
1 BLK Under all condition Check for continuity to ground: There should be continuity. 
  • Poor ground (G101)
  • Faulty ECM/PCM or disconnect ECM/PCM connector
  • An open in the wire
 
2 RED Ignition switch ON (II) Check for continuity to ground: There should be battery voltage. 
  • Faulty immobilizer control unit-receiver
  • unit-receiver
  • Faulty ECM/PCM
  • An open in the wire
 
4 RED/WHT Ignition key removed from the ignition switch Check for continuity to ground: There should be continuity. There should be battery voltage. 
  • Faulty multiplex integated control unit
  • An open in the wire
