| 1. | Drain the engine coolant. |
| 2. | Relieve fuel pressure. |
| 3. | Remove the fuel line. |
| 4. | Remove the drive belt. |
| 5. | Disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor connector (A). |
| 6. | Remove the vacuum hose (B) and breather pipe (C), then remove the intake air duct (D). |
| 7. | Remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister hose (A) and brake booster vacuum hose (B). |
| 8. | Remove the intake manifold. |
| 9. | Remove the exhaust manifold. |
| 10. | Remove the bolt (A) securing the connecting pipe. |
| 11. | Remove the water bypass hose (B). |
| 12. | Remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose (A), vacuum hose (B) and ground cable (C). |
| 13. | Remove the upper radiator hose (A) and heater hoses (B). |
| 14. | Remove the engine wire harness connectors and wire harness clamps from the cylinder head.

| 15. | Remove the two bolts (A) securing the EVAP canister purge valve bracket and remove the bolt (B) securing the harness bracket. |
| 16. | Remove the cam chain. |
| 17. | Remove the rocker arm assembly. |
| 18. | Remove the cylinder head bolts. To prevent warpage, unscrew the bolts in sequence 1/3 turn at a time; repeat the sequence until all bolts are loosened. CYLINDER HEAD BOLTS LOOSENING SEQUENCE: |
| 19. | Remove the cylinder head. |
