VTEC System Oil Pressure Troubleshooting
  1. Remove the bolt (A) from the rocker arm oil control valve (B) and attach the special tool as shown, then attach the bolt that was removed to the oil pressure gauge joint attachment (C).
  1. Start the engine. Hold the engine speed at 3,000 rpm (min −1 ) without load (A/T in P or N, M/T in neutral) until the radiator fan comes on.
  1. Check the oil pressure at the engine speed of 1,000 to 2,000 rpm (min −1 ).
    NOTE: Keep the measuring time as short as possible (less than 1 minute).
Is the oil pressure below 49 kPa (0.5 kgf/cm 2 , 7 psi)?
YES -
Go to Step 10 .
NO -
Go to Step 22 .
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  1. Disconnect the rocker arm oil control solenoid 2P connector.
