Cylinder Head Valve Clearance Adjustment
  1. Rotate the crankshaft clockwise. Align the No. 2 piston TDC groove (A) on the camshaft sprocket with the top edge of the head.
  1. Check, and if necessary, adjust the valve clearance on the No. 2 cylinder.
  1. Install the cylinder head cover.
  1. Connect the Honda Diagnostic System (HDS) to the data link connector (DLC).
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  1. Make sure the HDS communicates with the vehicle and the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM). If it doesn′t communicate, troubleshoot the DLC circuit.
  1. Select BODY ELECTRICAL with the HDS.
  1. Select ADJUSTMENT in GAUGE MENU with the HDS.
  1. Select SERVICE REMINDER in the EU MAINTENANCE MINDER with the HDS.
  1. Select SERVICE REMINDER ITEM 9 with the HDS.
