Radiator Fan Circuit Troubleshooting

  1. Check the No. 3−6 (30 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box and the No. 16 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box.
Are the fuses OK?
YES -
Go to Step 2 .
NO -
Replace the fuse(s) and recheck.■
  1. Remove the radiator fan relay and the relay circuit board from the under-hood fuse/relay box, and test the radiator fan relay and fan control relay.
Is the relays OK?
YES -
Go to Step 3 .
NO -
Replace the radiator fan relay and/or relay circuit board and recheck.■
  1. Test the radiator fan motor.
Is the motor OK?
YES -
Go to Step 4 .
NO -
Replace the radiator fan motor. ■
  1. Measure the voltage between the radiator fan relay 4P socket terminal No. 1 and body ground.
Is there battery voltage?
YES -
Go to Step 5 .
NO -
Replace the under-hood fuse/relay box.■
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
