How to Troubleshoot the A/T System

  1. Remove the bolts (D).
  1. Disconnect PCM connectors A, B, and C, then remove the PCM assembly (E).
    NOTE: PCM connectors A, B, and C have symbols (A=□, B=△, C=○) embossed on them for identification.
  1. Install a known-good PCM in the reverse order of removal.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
    NOTE: DTC P0630 ‘‘VIN Not Programmed or Mismatch'' may be stored because the VIN has not been programmed into the PCM; ignore it, and continue this procedure.
  1. Manually input the VIN to the PCM with the HDS.
  1. Select the IMMOBI SYSTEM with the HDS.
  1. Enter the immobilizer code using the PCM replacement procedure in the HDS; it allows you to start the engine.
  1. Select the PGM-FI system and reset the PCM with the HDS; R20A3 engine model, K24Z3 engine model.
  1. Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software; R20A3 engine model, K24Z3 engine model.
  1. Do the PCM idle learn procedure; R20A3 engine model, K24Z3 engine model.
  1. Do the CKP pattern learn procedure; R20A3 engine model, K24Z3 engine model.
  1. Do the accelerator pedal kickdown click system learn procedure.
