A/T Shift Lever Knob Replacement
  1. Wrap the end of a flat-tip screwdriver with tape, pry the shift lever knob cover locks, and remove the shift lever knob cover (A).
  1. Remove the screws (B), and remove the shift lever knob (C) from the shift lever boot.
  1. Apply non-hardening thread lock sealant to the screw threads.
  1. Apply silicone grease to the tip (D) of the shift lever rod.
    NOTE: When you apply the silicone grease, make sure not to adhere to the terminal part of connectors and surrounding switches. Also do not touch the switches and the terminal part of connector by hands or glove that adheres the silicone grease.
  1. Install a new shift lever knob on the shift lever, and secure the shift lever knob with the screws.
  1. Install the shift lever knob cover on the shift lever knob.
  1. Slide the shift lever boot ring over the shift lever knob until it snaps on.
