M/T Reverse Lockout System Circuit Troubleshooting
NOTE:
Refer to the How to Troubleshoot Circuits at the ECM connectors in the Fuel and Emission Systems before troubleshoot this circuit:
R20A3 engine model,
K24Z3 engine model.
When you inspect whether it is possible or not the transmission shift into reverse gear during the vehicles runs forward, raise the vehicle on the lift, make sure it is securely supported, and allow the front wheels to rotate freely.
Do not release the clutch pedal if you can select the transmission into reverse gear during the wheels are driven to forward.
When the vehicle on the lift, and you make the wheels drive, turn off the VSA system by the VSA OFF switch.
Driver can select the reverse gear when vehicle speed at 20 km/h (12 mph) or more
Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
Check the No. 7 (15 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box.
Install the new No. 7 (15 A) fuse, and recheck. If the fuse continues to blow, check for short to body ground in the wire between the No. 7 (15 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box and the reverse lockout solenoid or other component.■
Test-drive the vehicle.
Check the fuel and emissions system's DTC with the HDS.
