DTC Troubleshooting: 76-61, 76-62

DTC 76-61, 76-62:  
Non-Stipulated Response Data
  1. Clear the DTC memory.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and wait for 10 seconds.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and wait for 10 seconds.
  1. Read the DTC.
Are DTC 76-61 or 76-62 indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 5 .
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.
  1. Check the No. 1 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box and No. 20 (30 A) fuse and No. 21 (30 A) fuse in the front passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box.
Are the fuses OK?
YES -
Go to Step 6 .
NO -
Replace the faulty fuse. If the problem is still present, short to ground in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box or passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box circuit.■
  1. Disconnect the left engine compartment subharness 14P connector (LHD models) or E-pretensioner subharness 14P connector (RHD models) from the E-pretensioner unit.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  1. Check the voltage between the No. 8 terminal of the left engine compartment subharness 14P connector (LHD models) or E-pretensioner subharness 14P connector (RHD models) and body ground. There should be battery voltage.
Is there battery voltage?
YES -
Go to Step 9 .
NO -
Open between the No. 1 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box and the No. 8 terminal of the left engine compartment subharness 14P connector (LHD models) or E-pretensioner subharness 14P connector (RHD models).■
