DTC Troubleshooting: 26-8x

DTC 26-8x (‘‘x'' can be 0 thru 9 or A thru F):
Short to Power in the Right Side Seat Belt Outer Lap Tensioner (RHD model)
NOTE:
  • Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, review SRS Precautions and Procedures and General Troubleshooting Information.
  • Before replacing the SRS unit, check the SRS unit software version with the HDS. If the software version is not the latest, update the SRS unit software and retest.
  1. Clear the DTC memory.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), then wait for 10 seconds.
  1. Read the DTC.
Is DTC 26-8x indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 4 .
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure , then wait for 3 minutes.
  1. Disconnect SRS unit connector B (39P) from the SRS unit.
  1. Connect an SRS short canceller (070AZ-SAA0100) to the No. 4 and the No. 5 terminals of SRS unit connector B (39P).
  1. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), then wait for 10 seconds.
  1. Measure the voltage between the No. 4 and the No. 5 terminals of SRS unit connector B (39P) and body ground. There should be less than 0.5 V.
Is the voltage as specified?
YES -
Faulty SRS unit; replace the SRS unit. ■
NO -
Go to Step 11 .
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure , then wait for 3 minutes.
  1. Disconnect the SRS floor wire harness 2P connector from the right side seat belt outer lap tensioner.
  1. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), then wait for 10 seconds.
