DTC Troubleshooting: 32

LKAS Control Unit DTC 32:
 F-CAN Communication Malfunction (Pocket Error of the Yaw Rate-Lateral Acceleration Sensor)
  1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), then turn it to ON (II).
  1. Watch the LKAS indicator.
Does the LKAS indicator come on?
YES -
Go to Step 4 .
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.■
  1. Check for DTC with the HDS.
Is DTC 32 indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 5 .
NO -
Troubleshoot the indicated DTC(s).■
  1. Check for VSA system DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC 25, 26, or 104 indicated?
YES -
Troubleshoot the indicated VSA system DTC(s).■
NO -
Go to Step 6 .
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  1. Disconnect the LKAS control unit 26P connector and the yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor 4P connector.
  1. Check for continuity between LKAS control unit 26P connector and the yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor 4P connector terminals according to table.

Is there continuity?
YES -
Check for loose terminals in the LKAS control unit connectors, then repair if necessary. If all connections are OK, replace the LKAS control unit. ■
NO -
Repair an open in the wire between the LKAS control unit and the yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor.■
