DTC Troubleshooting: 8, 14

LKAS Control Unit DTC 8:
 F-CAN Communication with the ECM/PCM (PGM-FI System)
LKAS Control Unit DTC 14:
 F-CAN Communication Malfunction (Packet Error of the ECM/PCM (PGM-FI System)
  1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), then turn it to ON (II), and wait for 20 seconds or more.
  1. Watch the LKAS indicator.
Does the LKAS indicator come on?
YES -
Go to Step 4 .
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.■
  1. Check for DTC with the HDS.
Is DTC 8 or 14 indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 5 .
NO -
Troubleshoot the indicated DTC(s).■
  1. Check for adaptive cruise control (ACC) unit DTCs with HDS.
Is DTC 110 indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 6 .
NO -
Check for loose terminals in the LKAS control unit connector, and repair if necessary. If all connections are OK, replace the LKAS control unit. ■
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  1. Disconnect the LKAS control unit 26P connector and the ECM/PCM connector A (31P).
  1. Check for continuity between LKAS control unit 26P connector No. 12 terminal and ECM/PCM connector A (49P) No. 3 terminal.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to Step 9 .
NO -
Repair an open in the wire between the LKAS control unit and the branch of the F-CAN line (CANH).■
