DTC Troubleshooting: 21, 22
DTC 21:
 Yaw Rate Sensor Malfunction
DTC 22:
 Yaw Rate-lateral Acceleration Sensor Center Position Revision Value Error
NOTE: If DTC 112 is stored at the same time as DTC 21 or 22, troubleshoot DTC 112 first, then recheck for DTC 21 or 22.
  1. Check for VSA system DTCs with the HDS.
Are any DTCs indicated?
YES -
Troubleshoot the indicated VSA system DTC(s).■
NO -
Go to Step 2 .
  1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  1. Watch the ACC indicator.
Does the ACC indicator come on?
YES -
Go to Step 5 .
NO -
Intermittent failure. The system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.■
  1. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Are DTC 21 or 22 indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 6 .
NO -
Troubleshoot the indicated DTC(s).■
  1. Check the YAW RATE S with the HDS.
Is about 2.5 V indicated?
YES -
The yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor signal is OK, check for loose or poor connections. If the connections are OK, update the ACC unit, then recheck. If the ACC unit was already updated, replace the ACC unit. ■
NO -
Go to VSA system troubleshooting. ■
