Rearview Mirror Harness Cover Base Replacement
For Some Models with Automatic Dimming Mirror
NOTE:
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  • Wear eye protection while cutting the glass adhesive with piano wire.
  1. Remove these items:
    • Rearview mirror
    • LKAS camera cover, with lane keep assist system
  1. Carefully cut through the adhesive tape under the rearview mirror harness cover base using the piano wire, then remove the base.
  1. Use a putty knife to scrape off all of the old adhesive tape from the windshield. Clean the inside face of the windshield with isopropyl alcohol where new rearview mirror harness cover base is to be applied. Make sure the installing surface is kept free of water, oil and grease.
  1. If the old rearview mirror harness cover base (A) will be reinstalled, use a putty knife to scrape off all of the old adhesive tape from the base. Clean the base surface with isopropyl alcohol. Apply primer to the area where the new double-sided adhesive tape (B) will be applied to the base, and attach the adhesive tape to the base.
    Adhesive tape:
    Thickness 0.8 mm (0.031 in.)
    Width 7 mm ( 0.28 in.)
