Steering Column Blind Cover Removal/Installation
NOTE:
  • Take care not to scratch the dashboard and its related parts.
  • When removing components, use the trim tools or equivalent.
  • LHD model is shown; RHD model is symmetrical.
  1. Adjust the steering column to full tilt down position and to the full telescopic pull position.
  1. Remove these items:
    • Driver's outer dashboard trim
    • Center console panel
    • Driver's center trim
  1. Remove the column blind cover (A).
    -1.
    Remove the screws.
    -2.
    Detach the clips fastening the column blind cover from the upper column cover (B) by hand, and pull the pins (C) off the upper column cover.
    -3.
    Detach the hooks (D) from the dashboard.
    -4.
    Remove both ends of the cover from the hooks (E) of the dashboard.
  1. Install the visor in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    • If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
    • Push the clips and the hooks into place securely.
    • Slip both ends of the blind cover under the hooks of the dashboard properly.
