Headliner Removal/Installation

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.
NOTE:
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  • Take care not to bend and scratch the headliner.
  • Be careful not to damage the dashboard and other interior trim.
  • When removing components, use the trim tools or equivalent.
  1. Slide both the front seats all the way back, and recline the seat-back fully.
  1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, then wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.
  1. Remove these items:
    • Front door opening seal, as needed
    • Front pillar trim, both sides
    • Ceiling light
    • Rear door opening seal, as needed
    • Front door sill trim
    • Rear door sill trim
    • Center pillar lower trim, both sides
    • Center pillar upper trim, both sides
    • Rear pillar trim, both sides
    • Sunvisors and holders, both sides
    • Grab handles, four places
    • Driver's dashboard undercover
    • Driver's dashboard lower cover
    • Driver's dashboard side lid
    • Driver's kick panel
    • Center console panel
    • Center console rear trim
    • Driver's center trim
    • Passenger's dashboard trim
    • Passenger's center trim
    • Center console
    • Rear ventilation ducts, both sides, for some models
  1. A/T model: Remove the shift lever mounting bolts, then lower the lever to gain remove the center pocket frame.
  1. Remove these items:
    • Center holder
    • Climate control unit
    • Center pocket
    • Side pocket, both sides
    • Center pocket frame
    • Parking brake lever
    • Rain sensor, with automatic wiper
  1. Remove the roof console (A).
    -1.
    Remove the lenses (B).
    -2.
    Remove the screws (C), then pull out the front individual map light (D).
    -3.
    Disconnect the front individual map light connector (E). If equipped, disconnect the sunroof switch connector (F) or the ambient light connector.
    -4.
    Remove the screws (G). Pull out the front side of the console, and release the rear hooks (H).
    -5.
    If equipped, disconnect the navigation microphone connector (I) or the HFT microphone connector, and/or the ultrasonic sensor connector.
  1. With automatic dimming rearview mirror: Remove the rearview mirror harness cover or the rain sensor cover. Disconnect the connector from the rearview mirror, and release the wire harness from the rearview mirror harness cover base or the rain sensor cover base.
  1. With lane keep assist system: Remove the LKAS camera cover, then disconnect the LKAS camera connector.
