LKAS Symptom Troubleshooting - LKAS indicator (orange) does not go off

LKAS indicator (orange) does not go off
  1. Start the engine, and wait for 2 seconds.
  1. Watch the LKAS indicator.
Does the LKAS indicator go off?
YES -
Intermittent failure. The system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.■
NO -
Go to Step 3 .
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), then turn it to ON (II).
  1. Check for adaptive cruise control (ACC) system DTCs with the HDS.
Is any DTC indicated?
YES -
Troubleshoot the indicated DTC.■
NO -
Go to Step 5 .
  1. Check for ECM/PCM DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U0104 indicated?
YES -
Troubleshoot DTC U0104. ■
NO -
Go to Step 6 .
  1. Check for VSA system DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC 86 indicated?
YES -
Troubleshoot DTC 86. ■
NO -
Go to Step 7 .
  1. Do the gauge control module self-diagnostic function.
Is the gauge control module OK?
YES -
Go to the ACC system troubleshooting. If the system is OK, replace the ACC unit. ■
NO -
Substitute a known-good gauge control module and recheck. If the problem goes away, replace the original gauge control module. ■
