Radiator and A/C Condenser Fan Low Speed Circuit Troubleshooting

  1. Connect the ECM/PCM connector A (44P) No. 4 terminal (R20A3 engine model) or ECM/PCM connector A (49P) No. 5 terminal (K24Z3 engine model) to body ground with a jumper wire.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
Do the radiator and A/C condenser fans run on low?
YES -
Check for loose wires or poor connections at ECM/PCM connector A (44P) No. 4 terminal (R20A3 engine model) or ECM/PCM connector A (49P) No. 5 terminal (K24Z3 engine model). If the connections are good, substitute a known-good ECM/PCM, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original ECM/PCM, R20A3 engine model, K24Z3 engine model. ■
NO -
Repair open in the wire between the radiator fan relay and the ECM/PCM.■
  1. Disconnect the jumper wire.
  1. Reinstall the radiator fan relay.
  1. Disconnect the radiator fan 2P connector.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), then set the A/C button and fan control button ON.
