Rear Lower Arm B Replacement

  1. Raise the rear of the vehicle, and support it with safety stands in the proper locations.
  1. Remove the rear wheel.
  1. With HID lamp model: If removing the left side lower arm B, disconnect the suspension stroke sensor and lower arm B.
  1. Remove the lower arm B mounting bolts, then remove lower arm B.
    NOTE: Use new mounting bolts during reassembly.
  1. Install lower arm B in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    • First install all the components, and lightly tighten the bolts and the nuts, then raise the suspension to load it with the vehicle's weight before fully tightening to the specified torque values.
    • Rear disc brake type: Make sure the clearance between lower arm B and parking brake cable is more than 5 mm (0.20 in.).
    • Before installing the wheel, clean the mating surfaces on the brake disc or the brake disc/drum and the inside of the wheel.
  1. Check the wheel alignment, and adjust it if necessary.
  1. With HID lamp model: If the left side lower arm B was removed, do the headlight initial position learning procedure.
