NOTE: Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS before doing this procedure. If any DTCs are indicated, troubleshoot them first, then do this procedure.

Start the engine.

Test-drive several minutes.

Check the C SHAFT SPD in the DATA LIST with the HDS.

Is any vehicle speed indicated?

Depending on the result, replace the appropriate part.■

Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

Check the CLUTCH SWITCH (SIL) in the DATA LIST with the HDS.

Press the clutch pedal.

Check the CLUTCH SWITCH (SIL) in the DATA LIST with the HDS.

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the gauge control module, the clutch switch (SIL), and the ECM.■

Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

Disconnect the clutch switch (SIL) 2P connector.
-
Connect clutch switch (SIL) 2P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2 with a jumper wire.
-
Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
-
Check the CLUTCH SWITCH (SIL) in the DATA LIST with the HDS.
-
Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
-
Remove the jumper wire from the clutch switch (SIL) 2P connector.
