Intake Manifold Removal and Installation

Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister hose (A), brake booster vacuum hose (B), and positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose (C).

Remove the injector cover.

Remove the engine wire harness connectors and wire harness clamps from the intake manifold.
-
Throttle actuator connector
-
Manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor connector
-
Evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve connector

|
-
Remove the water bypass hoses (A), then plug the water bypass hoses.
-
Disconnect the vacuum hose (B).
-
Raise the vehicle on the lift to full height.

|

Remove the harness holder mounting bolt (A), then remove the intake manifold bracket (B).
-
Lower the vehicle on the lift.

Remove the all intake manifold mounting bolts/nuts, then remove the intake manifold from the cylinder head.
|
|
-
Disconnect the intake manifold tuning (IMT) valve actuator connector (A), and remove the harness clamps (B), then remove the intake manifold from the vehicle.

|
Installation

Connect the IMT valve actuator connector (A), then install the harness clamps (B) to the intake manifold.
|
|
-
Install the intake manifold (A) with new gaskets (B), and tighten the bolts/nuts in a crisscross pattern in two or three steps, beginning with the inner bolt.

Raise the vehicle on the lift to full height.

Install the intake manifold bracket (A), then install the harness holder mounting bolt (B).

Lower the vehicle on the lift.

Install the water bypass hoses (A) and vacuum hose (B).
-
Connect the engine wire harness connectors, and install the wire harness clamps to the intake manifold.

Throttle actuator connector

Manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor connector
-
Evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve connector

Install the injector cover.
|
|
-
Install the EVAP canister hose (A), brake booster vacuum hose (B), and PCV hose (C).
|
|
-
Install the air intake duct.
-
-
Clean up any spilled engine coolant.
-
After installation, check that all tubes, hoses, and connectors are installed correctly.
