These tools use only for except EU models.
NOTE:
  • Use fender covers to avoid damaging painted surfaces.
  • To avoid damaging the wiring and terminals, unplug the wiring connectors carefully while holding the connector portion.
  • Mark all wiring and hoses to avoid misconnection. Also, be sure that they do not contact other wiring or hoses, or interfere with other parts.
  1. Secure the hood in the wide open position (support rod in the lower hole).
  1. Remove the harness clamps (A).
  1. Disconnect the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) connector (B).
  1. Remove the ECM/PCM bracket assembly (C).
  1. Remove the battery cables (A) from the under-hood fuse/relay box.
  1. Remove the harness clamps (B).
  1. Disconnect the engine wire harness connector (C), then remove the connector from the bracket.
  1. Disconnect the engine wire harness connector (D).
  1. Remove the harness clamp (A) and intake air duct mounting bolt (B). Remove the two bolts (C) and loosen the two bolts (D), then remove the battery base (E).
  1. Remove the intake air duct.
  1. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister hose (A) and brake booster vacuum hose (B).
  1. With A/C: Disconnect the A/C compressor clutch connector (A), then remove the harness clamps (B).
  1. With A/C: Remove the A/C compressor (C) without disconnecting the A/C hoses.
  1. Remove the radiator cap.
  1. Raise the vehicle on the lift to full height.
  1. Remove the front wheels.
  1. Remove the splash shield.
  1. Drain the transmission fluid:
  1. Remove exhaust pipe A.
  1. Remove the driveshafts. Coat all precision-finished surfaces with clean engine oil. Tie a plastic bags over the driveshaft ends.
  1. Remove the transmission lower mount.
  1. Lower the vehicle on the lift.
M/T model
A/T model
  1. A/T model: Disconnect the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) cooler hose, then plug the line and hose.
  1. Disconnect the upper radiator hose (A), lower radiator hose (B), and heater hoses (C).
  1. Install the sub hanger stay (Commercially available tool for EU models).
  1. Attach the special tools (Commercially available tool for EU models) to the engine as shown.
  1. Remove the ground cable (A), then remove the side engine mount bracket (B).
  1. Remove the ground cables (A), then remove the transmission mount (B).
    NOTE: Do not remove the TORX bolt (C) from the upper transmission mount. If the TORX bolt is removed, the upper transmission mount must be replaced as an assembly.
M/T model
A/T model
  1. Remove the rear engine mount.
  1. Remove the vacuum hose (A), vacuum line mounting bolt (B), and the front engine mount stop (C), then remove the front engine mount bolt (D).
  1. Check that the engine/transmission is completely free of vacuum hoses, fuel and coolant hoses, and electrical wiring.
  1. Slowly raise the engine/transmission assembly about 150 mm (6 in.). Check once again that all hoses and electrical wiring are disconnected and free from the engine/transmission.
  1. Raise the engine all the way, and remove it from the vehicle.
