NOTE: Keep all foreign particles out of the transmission.
Park the vehicle on level ground.
Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature (the radiator fan comes on), and turn the engine off.
Remove the engine undercover.
Remove the drain plug (A), and drain the automatic transmission fluid (ATF). Then reinstall the drain plug with a new sealing washer (B).
Remove the ATF dipstick, and refill the transmission with the recommended fluid amount through the ATF dipstick guide tube opening (A) bring the fluid level between the upper mark and the lower mark on the ATF dipstick. Do not fill the fluid above the upper mark. Always use genuine Honda ATF-Z1 automatic transmission fluid (ATF). Using a non-Honda ATF can affect shift quality.
Automatic Transmission Fluid Capacity:
2.5 L (2.6 US qt, 2.2 Imp qt) at change
6.5 L (6.9 US qt, 5.7 Imp qt) at overhaul
Insert the ATF dipstick (A) into the ATF dipstick guide tube (B) aligning the notch (C) with the guide tab (D).
If the service reminder system required to replace the ATF,
reset the service reminder system,
and this procedure is complete. If the service reminder system did not require to replace the ATF, go to
Step 10
and reset the ATF life with the HDS.
Connect the HDS to the DLC (A), located under the driver's side of the dashboard.
Turn the ignition switch to ON (II). Make sure the HDS communicates with the PCM. If it does not, go to the DLC circuit troubleshooting;

K24Z3 engine model,
and go to the BODY ELECTRICAL in the System Selection Menu with the HDS.
Select Gauges in the BODY ELECTRICAL menu with the HDS.
Select Adjustment in the Gauges menu with the HDS.
Select EU Maintenance Minder in the Adjustment menu with the HDS.
Select Service Reminder in the EU Maintenance Minder menu with the HDS.
NOTE: If the torque converter and the transmission assembly are replaced as a set, select Unit Replacement in the EU Maintenance Minder menu, then select Automatic Transmission menu, and reset the ATF life with the HDS.
Select Service Reminder ITEM 3, and reset the ATF life with the HDS.
