Clutch Pedal, Clutch Pedal Position Switch, and Clutch Switch (SIL) Adjustment
NOTE:
  • With cruise control: For cruise control, check the clutch pedal position switch: R20A3 engine model, K24Z3 engine model.
  • With shift indicator lamp: For shift indicator, check the clutch switch (SIL) : R20A3 engine model, K24Z3 engine model.
  • Without cruise control: The adjusting bolt is substituted as clutch pedal position switch. The clutch pedal height adjustment is same procedure as with the clutch pedal position switch.
  • Remove the driver's floor mat before adjusting the clutch pedal.
  • If there is no clearance between the master cylinder piston and push rod, the release bearing will be held against the diaphragm spring, which can result in clutch slippage or other clutch problems.
  1. Disconnect the clutch pedal position switch connector and the clutch switch (SIL) connector (if equipped).
  1. Loosen the clutch pedal position switch locknut (A), and back off the clutch pedal position switch (B) until it no longer touches the clutch pedal (C).
  1. Loosen the clutch pushrod locknut (D), and turn the pushrod (E) in or out to get the specified height (F), and the stroke (G) at the clutch pedal.

    170.5 mm (6.71 in.)
    RHD model:
    171.5 mm (6.75 in.)

    Clutch Pedal Stroke:
    130−140 mm (5.12−5.51 in.)

  1. Tighten the clutch pushrod locknut (A).
  1. With the clutch pedal released, turn in the clutch pedal position switch (B) until it contacts the clutch pedal.
  1. Turn to clockwise the clutch pedal position switch an additional 3/4 to 1 turn.
  1. Tighten the clutch pedal position switch locknut (C) while holding the clutch pedal position switch.
  1. If the vehicle with shift indicator lamp, go to Step 9 . If the vehicle without shift indicator lamp, go to Step 12 .
  1. Loosen the clutch switch (SIL) locknut (A).
  1. Adjust the clutch switch (SIL) (B), so that the switch should be ON/OFF at the clutch switch (SIL) switch ON/OFF height (C).

    94.6−97.1 mm (3.72−3.82 in.)
    RHD model:
    91.4−93.9 mm (3.60−3.70 in.)

  1. Tighten the clutch switch (SIL) locknut while holding the clutch switch (SIL).
  1. Check the clutch operation.
  1. Connect the clutch pedal position switch connector and the clutch switch (SIL) connector (if equipped), then check the cruise control and the shift indicator lamp operation.
