Front Wheelhouse/Damper Housing Installation

NOTE:
  1. Clamp the new damper housing, front wheelhouse, wheelhouse upper inner, and front bulkhead, and measure the front compartment diagonally.
  1. Check the body dimensions.
  1. Tack weld the new parts and the front bulkhead into position.
  1. Temporarily install the front subframe, and check the front side frame position.
  1. Temporarily install the front fender, the hood, and the door, then check for differences in level and clearance. Check the external parts fitting position. If necessary, check the headlight and the front bumper positions. Make sure the body lines flow smoothly.
  1. Do the main welding.
    • Weld the damper housing (A), the damper housing lower extension (B) to the front side frame (C).
    • Weld the damper housing and the dashboard upper side member (D).
  1. From the passenger's side, plug weld the holes in the dashboard lower (A) and the damper housing lower extension (B).
  1. Weld the wheelhouse upper inner (A) and the dashboard upper side member (B).
    (X): Drill the holes for welding the new wheelhouse upper inner.
  1. Weld the damper housing (A) and the wheelhouse upper inner (B).
  1. Weld the front wheelhouse (A) to the damper housing (B), the front side frame (C), and the wheelhouse upper inner (D).
  1. Weld the wheelhouse upper inner (A), the lower member (B), and the lower member support (C).
  1. Weld the wheelhouse upper member (A).
