DTC Troubleshooting: 76-47

DTC 76-47:
 Faulty Power Supply to the Right Side E-pretensioner Motor
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and wait for 10 seconds.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and wait for 10 seconds.
Is DTC 76-47 indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 5 .
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  1. Check the No. 20 (30 A) fuse in the front passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box.
Are the fuses OK?
YES -
Go to Step 7 .
NO -
Replace the faulty fuse. If the problem is still present, short to ground in the front passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box.■
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  1. Check the voltage between the No. 12 terminal of the left engine compartment subharness 14P connector (LHD models) or E-pretensioner subharness 14P connector (RHD models) and body ground. There should be battery voltage.
Is the battery voltage?
YES -
Check the loose terminals and poor connections at left engine compartment subharness 14P connector terminal No. 12 (LHD models) or E-pretensioner subharness 14P connector terminal No. 12 (RHD models). If the terminals and connections are OK, replace the E-pretensioner control unit, and recheck.■
NO -
Open between the No. 20 (30 A) fuse in the front passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box and the No. 12 terminal of the left engine compartment subharness 14P connector (LHD models) or E-pretensioner subharness 14P connector (RHD models).■
