DTC Troubleshooting: 73-15
DTC 73-15:
 Short to Power in the Left Side E-pretensioner Motor
NOTE: Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, review SRS Precautions and Procedures and General Troubleshooting Information.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and wait for 10 seconds.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and wait for 10 seconds.
Is DTC 73-15 indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 5 .
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  1. Measure the voltage between No. 1 terminal of the left engine compartment subharness 5P connector (LHD models) or E-pretensioner subharness 5P connector (RHD models) and body ground, and between the No. 2 terminal and body ground. There should be less than 1.0 V.
Is the voltage as specified?
YES -
NO -
Open in the left engine compartment subharness (LHD models), E-pretensioner subharness (RHD models), left side wire harness or left engine compartment wire harness; replace the faulty harness.■
