LKAS Control Unit DTC 29:
Steering Angle Sensor (Straight Point of the Steering Angle)

Do the following check.
-
Suspension is not modified
-
All four tyres the correct size and the same manufacturer
-
All four tyres the correct pressure
-
Steering wheel spoke angle in the drive
-

YES

NO

|
-
Adjust the wheel alignment
-
Adjust the tyre pressure
-
Change for the standard tyres
-
Adjust the steering wheel spork angle

Start the engine and test-drive the vehicle at 36 km/h (23 mph) or more.

Watch the LKAS indicator.

Does the LKAS indicator come on?
|
|
YES
|
-
|
|
|
NO
|
-
|
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.■
|

Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) with HDS connected.
-
Align the steering wheel straight ahead. Do this operation precisely, because this steering wheel position is entered the steering angle 0 degrees.
-
Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
-
From the HDS Inspection Menu, select Steering Angle with the HDS. While HDS operating, must not move the steering wheel.
-
Start the engine and test-drive straight the vehicle for more than 60 seconds at 72 km/h (22 mph) or more, and check for Steering Angle 0±5 degrees in the DATA LIST with the HDS.

With the steering wheel in the straight ahead position, is STEERING ANGLE within ±5 degrees?

Watch the LKAS indicator.

Does the LKAS indicator come on?
|

YES

NO
|
-
|
The system is OK at this time.■

|
Troubleshoot the indicated DTC(s).■
