DTC Troubleshooting: 19

LKAS Control Unit DTC 19:
 A Problem with the Temperature Monitoring for the LKAS Camera
NOTE: Information marked with an asterisk ( *1 ) applies to LHD model, an asterisk ( *2 ) applies to RHD model.
  1. Start the engine.
  1. Set the temperature control button to Max Cool, the mode control button to Vent and the recirculation control button to Recirculate.
  1. Turn the A/C button on and fan button to Max, and running the air conditioning for 15 minutes or more.
  1. Watch the LKAS indicator.
Does the LKAS indicator come on?
YES -
Go to Step 6 .
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.■
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
Is DTC 19 indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 8 .
NO -
Troubleshoot the indicated DTC(s).■
  1. Check the No. 5 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box.
Is the fuse OK?
YES -
Go to Step 9 .
NO -
Replace the fuse, and recheck.■
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  1. Disconnect the LKAS control unit 26P connector and the LKAS camera 10P connector.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  1. Measure the voltage between body ground and LKAS camera 10P connector No. 3 and No. 4 terminals individually.
Is there battery voltage?
YES -
Repair short to power in the wire between LKAS camera and LKAS control unit.■
NO -
Go to Step 13 .
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

  1. Check for continuity between body ground and LKAS camera 10P connector No. 3 and No. 4 terminals individually.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Repair short to body ground in the wire between LKAS camera and LKAS control unit.■
NO -
Go to Step 15 .

  1. Check for continuity between LKAS control unit 26P connector No. 11 terminal and LKAS camera 10P connector No. 4 terminal.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to Step 16 .
NO -
Repair an open in the wire between LKAS camera and LKAS control unit.■

  1. Check for continuity between LKAS control unit 26P connector No. 24 terminal and LKAS camera 10P connector No. 3 terminal.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to Step 17 .
NO -
Repair an open in the wire between LKAS camera and LKAS control unit.■
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

  1. Measure the voltage between LKAS control unit 26P connector No. 7 terminal and body ground.
Is there battery voltage?
YES -
Repair short to power in the wire between LKAS camera and LKAS control unit.■
NO -
Go to Step 19 .
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

  1. Check for continuity between LKAS camera 10P connector No. 6 terminal and body ground.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Repair short to body ground in the wire between LKAS camera and LKAS control unit.■
NO -
Go to Step 21 .

  1. Check for continuity between LKAS control unit 26P connector No. 7 terminal and LKAS camera 10P connector No. 6 terminal.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Check for loose terminals in the LKAS camera and LKAS control unit connectors, then repair if necessary. If all connections are OK, replace the LKAS camera.
NO -
Repair an open in the wire between LKAS camera and LKAS control unit.■
