DTC Troubleshooting: 9, 15

LKAS Control Unit DTC 9:
 F-CAN Communication with the Gauge Control Module Malfunction
LKAS Control Unit DTC 15:
 F-CAN Communication Malfunction (Packet Error of the Gauge Control Module)
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), then turn it to ON (II).
  1. Watch the LKAS indicator.
Does the LKAS indicator come on?
YES -
Go to Step 4 .
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.■
Is DTC 9 or 15 indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 5 .
NO -
Troubleshoot the indicated DTC(s).■
Is DTC 113 indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 6 .
NO -
Check for loose terminals in the LKAS control unit connector, ACC unit connector and gauge control module connector, and repair if necessary. If all connections are OK, replace the LKAS control unit.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  1. Disconnect the LKAS control unit 26P connector and the gauge control module 32P connector.
  1. Check for continuity between LKAS control unit 26P connector No. 12 terminal and gauge control module 32P connector No. 22 terminal.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to Step 9 .
NO -
Repair an open in the wire between the LKAS control unit and the branch of the F-CAN line (CANH).■

  1. Check for continuity between LKAS control unit 26P connector No. 25 terminal and gauge control module 32P connector No. 21 terminal.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Check for loose terminals in the gauge control module connector, and repair if necessary. If all connections are OK, replace the gauge control module.
NO -
Repair an open in the wire between the LKAS control unit and the branch of the F-CAN line (CANL).■
