Lost Communication with EPS Control Unit
NOTE: Information marked with an asterisk (

) applies to RHD model.

Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), then turn it to ON (II), and wait for 20 seconds or more.
-
Watch the LKAS indicator.

Does the LKAS indicator come on?

YES
|

|
|
NO
|
-
|
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.■
|

|
YES
|
-
|
|
|
NO
|
-
|
Troubleshoot the indicated DTC(s).■
|

Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
-
Disconnect the EPS control unit connector D (28P).
-
Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
-
Measure the voltage between EPS control unit connector D (28P) No. 20 terminal and body ground.

Is there battery voltage?
|
|
YES
|

|
Repair short to power in the wire between the EPS control unit and LKAS control unit.■
|

NO
|

|
|
-
Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
-
Reconnect the EPS control unit D connector (28P).
-
Disconnect the LKAS control unit 26P connector.
-
Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
