Front Up-down Motor - 8-Way Power Seat
NOTE:
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  • The driver's seat on LHD model is shown; the passenger's seat is symmetrical; the ones on RHD model are similar.
  1. Remove the front up-down motor (A) and the front up-down motor bracket (B) as an assembly:
    -1.
    Disconnect the motor connector (C).
    -2.
Using a TORX T30 bit, remove the motor bracket mounting bolts (D).
    -3.
Using a TORX T40 bit, remove the motor bracket mounting bolt (E).

  1. Detach the motor connector (A). Using a TORX T30 bit, remove the bolts, then remove the front up-down motor (B) from the front up-down motor bracket (C).

  1. Install the motor in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    • Apply multipurpose grease to the pivot portions of the up-down adjuster and the motor pinion.
    • When installing the front up-down motor (A), adjust the gear (B) to the motor pinion (C) by slightly rotating the brake (D) with a 8 mm hexagonal wrench.
    • Make sure the motor connector is plugged in properly.
    • Check the front seat up-down operation.

Rear Up-down Motor - 8-Way Power Seat

Removal
  1. Remove these items:
  1. Remove the rear brake (A) and the rear brake bracket (B) as an assembly.
    -1.
Using a TORX T30 bit, remove the brake bracket mounting bolts (C).
    -2.
Using a TORX T40 bit, remove the brake bracket mounting bolt (D).
    -3.
Pull the brake bracket back to remove the gear (E) from the brake gear axle.

  1. Remove the gear (A).
  1. Manually lower the seat frame down fully to access the rear bolt securing the rear up-down motor.

  1. Disconnect and detach the motor connector (A). Using a TORX T30 bit, remove the bolts, then remove the rear up-down motor (B).
  1. Apply multipurpose grease to the pivot portions of the up-down adjuster.

Installation
  1. Using a TORX T30 bit, remove the bolts, then remove the rear brake (A) from the rear brake bracket (B).
  1. Apply multipurpose grease to the motor pinion.

  1. Install the rear up-down motor (A). Using a TORX T30 bit, fasten the bolts. Connect the motor connector (B) and fasten the connector clip (C) to the seat frame. Make sure the connector is plugged in properly.
  1. Manually raise the seat frame fully upward.

  1. Install the gear (A) with its chamfered side faced the seat frame.

  1. Install the rear brake bracket (A) without the rear brake to the seat frame. Using TORX T40 and T30 bits, lightly fasten all of the mounting bolts (B, C)
  1. Carefully lay the seat frame on its rear up-down motor side down.

  1. Adjust the pinion (A) of the rear brake (B).
    -1.
Engage the gear (C) with the motor pinion by hand, and center it.
    -2.
Check the positions of the sector gear (D) and the cross-shaped hole (E) in the gear.
    -3.
Using a 8 mm hexagonal wrench, adjust the pinion of the rear brake to the sector gear and also fingers (F) around the axle to the cross-shaped hole in the gear.

  1. While holding the gear (A) perpendicular to the axle of the rear brake (B) by hand, install the rear brake to the rear brake bracket (C).
    NOTE:
    • If any interferences between inside gears are felt, remove the rear brake, and repeat on Step 15 .
    • If the rear brake is fully seated on the rear brake bracket with no interference, go to Step 17 .

  1. Install the rear brake mounting bolts (A), and using a TORX T30 bit, secure them to their specified torque. Using TORX T40 and T30 bits, fasten the rear brake bracket mounting bolts (B, C) to their specified torque.
  1. Reinstall all of removed parts to the seat frame:
  1. Check the front seat up-down operation.
