Front Seat Torsion Bar Replacement

Manual Height Adjustable Seat
NOTE:
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  • Take care not to tear the seams or damage the seat covers.
  • LHD model is shown; RHD model is symmetrical.
  1. Adjust the seat to its maximum height.
  1. Lever a hook shaped end of the front seat torsion bar (A) down using a long-handled clip remover.

  1. While holding the torsion bar (A) twisted, pull the end of it out of the seat frame, then carefully loosen the torsion bar. The end of the torsion bar will interferes with the seat cushion frame (B).

  1. Carefully pry up the end of the torsion bar (A) to release it from the seat frame.
    NOTE: While prying the torsion bar, you must keep your fingers away from the end of the torsion bar. As soon as the end of the torsion bar releases from the seat frame, it suddenly returns with great force.

  1. Remove the other side end of the torsion bar (A) from the hook (B), then remove the torsion bar from the seat frame.

  1. Install the torsion bar in the reverse order of removal.
    NOTE: When installing the hook shaped end of the torsion bar (A), insert a large flat-tip screwdriver (B) between the torsion bar and the seat frame, and hold it. Lever the torsion bar down with a long-handled clip remover (C) as shown, then install the end of it into the frame hole.
