Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Trunk Area

With Temporary Repair Kit (TRK)/With Compact Spare Tyre
NOTE:
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  • Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and the panels.
  • When removing components, use the trim tools or equivalent.
  1. Fold both the rear seat-backs forward.
  1. For some models: Pull back the front portion of the spare tyre lid (A), and detach the clips.

  1. For some models: Remove the spare tyre lid (A).
  1. Remove the trunk lid weatherstrip near the trunk rear trim panel.

  1. Detach the clips (A, B), and release the hooks (C) and the projections (D) by pulling the trunk rear trim panel (E) up, then remove it.

  1. Remove the tool box spacer (A).
With temporary repair kit (TRK)
With compact spare tyre

  1. For some models: Remove the clips (A), detach the clip (B), release each tie down hook (C) out through the hole in the panel, and pull the trunk side trim panel (D) out from under the rear bulkhead cover (E) and the rear seat-back (F), then remove the panel.

  1. For some models: Remove the tie down hook (A).
  1. Install the trim in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    • If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
    • Push the clips and the hooks into place securely.

With Normal Spare Tyre
NOTE:
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  • Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and the panels.
  • When removing components, use the trim tools or equivalent.
  1. Fold both the rear seat-backs forward.
  1. Pull back the front portion of the spare tyre lid (A), and detach the clips.

  1. Remove the spare tyre lid (A).

  1. Remove the tool box spacer (A).

  1. Release the Velcro fasteners (A), then remove the trunk floor box (B).
  1. Remove the trunk lid weatherstrip near the trunk rear trim panel.

  1. Detach the clips (A, B), and release the hooks (C) and the projections (D) by pulling the trunk rear trim panel (E) up, then remove it.

  1. Remove the clips (A), detach the clip (B), release each tie down hook (C) out through the hole in the panel, and pull the trunk side trim panel (D) out from under the rear bulkhead cover (E) and the rear seat-back (F), then remove the panel.

  1. Remove the tie down hook (A).
  1. Install the trim in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    • If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
    • Push the clips and the hooks into place securely.

Spare Tyre Lid Hanger Handle - For Some Models
  1. Lift the spare tyre lid, and unhook the hanger handle (A).

  1. Lower the spare tyre lid, then remove the hanger handle (A).
  1. Install the handle in the reverse order of removal. Push the hooks into place securely.

Rear Wheelhouse Insulator - For Some Models
NOTE: Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  1. Remove the trunk side trim panel.
  1. Detach the clips (A) and the harness holders (B) from the stud bolts, and detach the side wire harness clips (C), then remove the rear wheelhouse insulator (D).
  1. Install the insulator in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    • If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
    • Push the clips and the harness holders into place securely.
