Trunk Lid Opener Cable Replacement
NOTE:
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  • Take care not to scratch the body and the related parts.
  1. Remove these items:
  1. KE model: Remove the bolts, then remove the trunk lid frame protector (A) from the trunk lid.
  1. Disconnect the trunk lid opener cable from the trunk lid cylinder, and from the trunk compartment, pull the cable out through the hole in the body. Take care not to kink the cable.
  1. Using a clip remover, detach the clips (A) fastening the trunk lid opener cable (B). With security alarm system: Release the cable from the clip (C). Take care not to kink the cable.
  1. LHD model: Remove the trunk lid opener cable (A) from the trunk lid.

    Using a clip remover, detach the clips (C, D).
  1. RHD model: Remove the trunk lid opener cable (A) from the trunk lid.

    Release the cable from the clip (C).

    Using a clip remover, detach the clip (D).
  1. Install the opener cable in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    • Replace any damaged clips.
    • Align the marks (A) on the opener cable (B) with the cable clips (C) as shown.
    • KE model: Route the opener cable under the trunk lid wire harness (D) as shown.
