Trunk Lid Cylinder Replacement

NOTE:
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  • Take care not to scratch the body.
  1. Remove these items:
  1. Detach the trunk lid opener cable (A) from the key cylinder bracket (B), and disconnect the cable from the cable fastener (C). Take care not to kink the cable.
    NOTE: Check if the cable fastener is damaged or stress-whitened.

  1. Remove the bolts securing the key cylinder bracket (A).

  1. Remove the key cylinder bracket (A) from the body.

  1. Remove the bolt, and release the hook (A) by turning the trunk lid cylinder (B) 45 °, then remove the cylinder from the key cylinder bracket (C).
  1. Install the cylinder reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    • Replace the damaged cable fastener with a new one.
    • Make sure the opener cable is connected properly.
    • When installing the bracket, first tighten the inside mounting bolt, then tighten the outside mounting bolt.
    • Make sure the trunk lid opens properly and locks securely.
