Hood Opener Cable Replacement
NOTE:
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  • Take care not to scratch the body and the related parts.
  1. Remove these items:
  1. LHD model: Remove the clips securing the intake air duct cover (A), and move the cover rearward.
  1. Remove the bolts, and pull the left radiator upper bracket (B) (LHD model) or the right radiator upper bracket (RHD model) up to release it from the radiator (C), then remove the bracket.
    NOTE: LHD model is shown; RHD model is symmetrical, however, the shape of the bracket is different.
  1. Using a clip remover, detach the clips (C), and release the hood opener cable from the clip (D). Take care not to kink the cable.

  1. Remove the grommet (C) from the body, then remove the hood opener cable from the vehicle. Take care not to kink the cable.
  1. Install the cable in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    • If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
    • LHD model: When installing the opener cable under the dashboard, route the cable over the ground harness (D).
    • RHD model: When installing the opener cable under the dashboard, route the cable under the ground harness (E).
