Front Bumper Spoiler Replacement

For Some Models
NOTE:
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  • Take care not to scratch the front bumper.
  1. Remove the screws (A) securing the front bumper (B) and the front bumper spoiler (C) from both wheel arch portions.
  1. Remove the bolts (D, E) securing the bumper and the spoiler from under the bumper.
  1. Pull the front bumper spoiler back along the edge of it near the double-sided adhesive tape (F) and the double-sided adhesive tape (G) of the spoiler spacers (H) to release them from the front bumper, then remove the spoiler.

  1. If the spoiler (C) will be reinstalled, check the double-sided adhesive tape (D) that attach the spoiler spacer A and the spoiler spacer B to the spoiler for damage. If the double-sided adhesive tape is damaged, remove the spoiler spacers from the spoiler. Scrape off the double-sided adhesive tape from the both sides of the spoiler spacers, and clean their surfaces with isopropyl alcohol.
  1. Scrape off the remaining double-sided adhesive tape (E) from the spoiler, and clean it surface with isopropyl alcohol.

  1. If the spoiler (C) will be reinstalled, attach the spoiler spacer A, the spoiler spacers B, and the new double-sided adhesive tape (D) to the spoiler as shown:
    • Do not peel off the adhesive backing of the double-sided adhesive tape that attach to the bumper.
    • Be sure the convex portions (E) of the spacers toward bottom.
    • Be sure the spacers and the adhesive tape line up with the alignment marks (F).
    Double-sided adhesive tape:
    Thickness 1.2 mm (0.047 in.)
    Width 10 mm (0.39 in.)

  1. If the spoiler will be reinstalled, fold the edge of each adhesive backing from the double-sided adhesive tape before reinstalling the spoiler to the bumper.
  1. Before installing the spoiler, clean the bumper surface with isopropyl alcohol where adhesive tape will be applied.
  1. Set the spoiler to the bumper, and loosely install the bolts and the screws.
  1. Carefully pull the adhesive backing away, and push the double-sided adhesive tape portions to make the adhesive stick securely.
  1. Tighten the bolts and the screw.
